Make It Better

Aligned to W.1.5 — Common Core State Standards for English Language Arts.

What this lesson teaches

After we write, we can make it better. We stay on one topic and add more details.

Worked example

First we write, "I have a cat." Then we add a detail: "I have a soft gray cat named Mo." Now it tells more!

Practice questions

  1. Read something you wrote out loud.
  2. Add one more detail to it.
  3. Ask a friend what else they want to know.

Hazlo Mejor
