What this lesson teaches
Some active hobbies are not team sports at all, like hiking, biking, swimming, and jumping rope, and you can enjoy them your whole life. Trying many kinds of activities helps you discover what you love, even if competitive sports are not your favorite. The goal is to find fun ways to stay active for life.
Worked example
Plan a family outing like a hike on a local trail or a bike ride around the neighborhood. Notice how being active outdoors can feel like an adventure, not a chore.
Practice questions
- Name two active hobbies that are not team sports.
- Pick one outdoor activity you want to try.
- Why is it good to know many ways to be active?
