What this lesson teaches
The pictures in a story show us what the words are telling.
Worked examples
Example 1
If the words say 'the puppy is happy,' the picture might show the puppy wagging its tail.
Example 2
If the words say 'it was raining hard,' the picture might show puddles and a bent umbrella.
Example 3
Sometimes the picture tells you something the words do not, like that the boy is wearing red boots.
Practice questions
- What do you see in the picture?
- How does the picture match the words?
- Point to something in the picture the story talks about.

Las Imágenes Ayudan
Las imágenes de un cuento nos muestran lo que las palabras están contando.
Ejemplo 1: Si las palabras dicen 'el perrito está feliz', la imagen puede mostrar al perrito moviendo la cola.
Ejemplo 2: Si las palabras dicen 'llovía muy fuerte', el dibujo puede mostrar charcos y un paraguas doblado.
Ejemplo 3: A veces el dibujo te cuenta algo que las palabras no, como que el niño lleva botas rojas.
