What this lesson teaches
The same subject reported in different media — a written article, a podcast, an infographic — emphasizes different details. Analyze which facts each account foregrounds and how the medium shapes that choice.
Worked example
A written report on a flood may list rainfall totals, while a photo essay foregrounds a single stranded family; the numbers argue scale, the images argue urgency.
Practice questions
- Choose one subject covered in two media and note one detail each emphasizes.
- Explain why each medium is suited to the detail it highlights.
- Describe what a reader would miss by relying on only one account.
