What this lesson teaches

For any number, we can find how many more we need to make a whole group of 10.

Worked example

You have 7 fingers up. Put up 3 more to get to 10. So 7 needs 3 more to make 10.

Practice questions

  1. You have 8 - how many more make 10?
  2. Put up 4 fingers, then count up to 10. How many more?
  3. 6 and what number make 10?
