What this lesson teaches

With small numbers up to 5, we can add and take away fast, sometimes right in our heads.

Example 1

2 and 2 makes 4. Try to say it quick without counting on your fingers!

Example 2

5 − 1 is 4. Once you know it, you can say it right away without counting back.

Example 3

1 + 4 is 5, and 4 + 1 is 5 too. Knowing one of them gives you the other for free.

Ejemplo 1: 2 y 2 son 4. ¡Trata de decirlo rápido sin contar con los dedos!

Ejemplo 2: 5 − 1 es 4. Cuando ya lo sabes, puedes decirlo de inmediato sin contar hacia atrás.

Ejemplo 3: 1 + 4 es 5, y 4 + 1 también es 5. Saber uno te da el otro sin trabajo.
