What this lesson teaches
An informative essay examines a topic by selecting relevant facts, organizing them logically, and analyzing what they mean. Group related ideas, define key terms, and use transitions to guide the reader.
Worked example
Explaining how bread rises, you first define yeast, then describe the gas it releases, then explain why the dough expands, each step building on the last with clear transitions.
Practice questions
- Choose a topic and list three facts worth explaining.
- Order those facts so each one prepares the next.
- Add a transition that links two of your points.
