What this lesson teaches
A focused research project answers one question by drawing on several sources. As you learn, let new questions arise that sharpen or extend your inquiry.
Worked examples
Example 1
You start with 'Why do bees vanish?' and, after reading, a sharper question appears: 'Do city bees fare better than farm bees?' which guides your next search.
Example 2
A question that changes mid-project usually means the research is working. Note the old question so you can show why you moved.
Example 3
Stop when the sources start repeating each other. That is the signal you have the shape of the topic, not that you have read everything.
Practice questions
- Write one clear research question you could answer.
- List two kinds of sources you would consult.
- Generate a follow-up question your research raises.

Proyectos Breves de Investigación
Un proyecto de investigación enfocado responde a una pregunta apoyándose en varias fuentes. Mientras aprendes, deja que surjan nuevas preguntas que afinen o amplíen tu indagación.
Ejemplo 1: Empiezas con '¿Por qué desaparecen las abejas?' y, tras leer, aparece una pregunta más precisa: '¿Les va mejor a las abejas de ciudad que a las del campo?' que guía tu siguiente búsqueda.
Ejemplo 2: Una pregunta que cambia a medio proyecto normalmente significa que la investigación está funcionando. Anota la pregunta vieja para poder mostrar por qué te moviste.
Ejemplo 3: Detente cuando las fuentes empiecen a repetirse. Esa es la señal de que ya tienes la forma del tema, no de que leíste todo.
