What this lesson teaches

Worked examples
Example 1
A safety notice for young children uses short commands and simple words, while the same rule for adults can be one detailed paragraph, each version suited to its readers.
Example 2
A recipe for a beginner numbers the steps; the same recipe for a cook can be one paragraph, because they already know what 'fold' means.
Example 3
Writing down to an audience is as costly as writing over their heads. Both tell the reader you did not think about them.

Escribir para la Tarea y el Público
La escritura clara y coherente se ajusta a su tarea, propósito y público. Adapta tu tono, elección de palabras y organización a quién leerá y por qué lo hará.
Ejemplo 1: Un aviso de seguridad para niños pequeños usa órdenes cortas y palabras simples, mientras que la misma regla para adultos puede ser un párrafo detallado, cada versión adecuada a sus lectores.
Ejemplo 2: Una receta para principiantes numera los pasos; la misma receta para un cocinero puede ser un párrafo, porque ya sabe qué significa 'integrar'.
Ejemplo 3: Escribirle por debajo a un público cuesta tanto como escribirle por encima. Los dos le dicen al lector que no pensaste en él.
