What this lesson teaches
Many new stories reshape old myths and legends, borrowing their themes, plot patterns, or character types. Spot the ancient pattern beneath the modern surface and explain what the update adds.
Worked example
A teen who ignores every warning and loses everything echoes the pride-before-a-fall pattern of old myths, even if he drives a car instead of a chariot.
