What this lesson teaches
Strong research starts with a focused question, not a giant topic, and good searching uses precise terms. As you research, you may discover new questions, and you must cite sources to avoid plagiarism.
Worked example
Instead of researching 'space,' you narrow it to 'How do astronauts sleep in zero gravity?' Then you search exact terms like 'astronaut sleep zero gravity' to find better sources.
Practice questions
- Turn a broad topic into one focused research question.
- Choose three precise search terms for that question.
- Write a new question your research made you wonder about.
