Using Many Sources to Find Answers

What this lesson teaches
To answer a question fast, pull facts from several places — a book, a chart, a website. Combine what each one offers instead of relying on just one.
Worked examples
Example 1
To learn when to plant sunflowers, you check a seed packet for the month, a map for your climate zone, and a website for sunlight tips.
Example 2
To settle when a battle happened, you check an encyclopedia for the date, a map for where, and a primary letter for what it was like.
Example 3
Sources have different jobs. A map cannot tell you why, and a diary cannot tell you how many. Use the one built for your question.
Practice questions
- List two sources you would use to answer a question.
- Explain what each source adds that the other misses.
- Combine two facts from different sources into one answer.

Usar Varias Fuentes para Responder
Para responder una pregunta rápido, toma datos de varios lugares — un libro, una gráfica, un sitio web. Combina lo que cada uno ofrece en lugar de depender de uno solo.
Ejemplo 1: Para saber cuándo sembrar girasoles, revisas el sobre de semillas para el mes, un mapa para tu clima y un sitio web para consejos de luz solar.
Ejemplo 2: Para establecer cuándo ocurrió una batalla, revisas una enciclopedia por la fecha, un mapa por el dónde y una carta original por cómo fue.
Ejemplo 3: Las fuentes tienen trabajos distintos. Un mapa no te dice por qué, y un diario no te dice cuántos. Usa la que sirve para tu pregunta.
