What this lesson teaches
Solve length problems by adding lengths together or subtracting to find a difference. Keep the same unit.
Worked example
A path is 34 meters. You walk 20 meters. How much is left? 34 - 20 = 14 meters left.
Practice questions
- A fence is 25 feet, then you add 18 more feet. How long is the fence now?
- A ribbon is 40 cm. You cut off 15 cm. How much is left?
- One rope is 22 inches and another is 13 inches. How long are they together?
