What this lesson teaches
Fables and folktales often teach a lesson. Retell the story in order, then think about what it teaches you.
Worked example
A small bird shares her berries with a hungry mouse. Later, the mouse helps the bird build a nest. The lesson: kindness comes back to you.
Practice questions
- Retell a folktale you know in order, from beginning to end.
- Tell what lesson the story is trying to teach.
- Explain how the events in the story show that lesson.
