What this lesson teaches
Pictures and words work together. Look at the pictures to learn more about the people, the place, and what happens.
Worked example
The words say 'Ben went outside.' The picture shows snow and a sled, so you know it is a cold, snowy day.
Practice questions
- Look at a picture in a book and tell where the story takes place.
- Find a clue in the picture that the words do not tell you.
- Use both the words and the picture to explain what is happening.
