Telling a Story in Writing

What this lesson teaches
A story tells what happened in order. Add details about what you saw and felt, and end with how it turned out.
Worked example
First we drove to the beach. Then I built a big sandcastle. The waves were cold on my toes. At last we went home, happy and tired.
Practice questions
- Write a sentence about something that happened to you.
- Add what happened next, using order words like 'then' and 'next'.
- Write an ending that tells how it all turned out.
