What this lesson teaches

When you tell about something, speak clearly and add details so your listeners can picture it.

Example 1

'On Saturday I went to the zoo. I saw a tall giraffe eat leaves from a high branch. It was a fun day.'

Example 2

'On Tuesday my grandmother taught me to make tortillas. The dough was warm and I flattened it with my hands.'

Example 3

Start with when and where. A listener who does not know when something happened spends the whole story catching up.
