What this lesson teaches
When someone is talking, you can ask questions to understand better or to learn more.
Worked examples
Example 1
A friend says she saw a big bug. You ask, 'What color was it?' to learn more about the bug.
Example 2
A friend says his team lost. You ask, 'What was the score?' instead of just saying 'Oh well.'
Example 3
A question about what you actually want to know beats a polite question you do not care about.
Practice questions
- Listen to someone tell about something they did.
- Ask one question to understand it better.
- Answer a question a partner asks you with a full idea.

Haz una buena pregunta
Cuando alguien habla, puedes hacer preguntas para entender mejor o aprender más.
Ejemplo 1: Una amiga dice que vio un insecto grande. Le preguntas: '¿De qué color era?' para saber más del insecto.
Ejemplo 2: Un amigo dice que su equipo perdió. Le preguntas: '¿Cómo quedaron?' en vez de solo decir 'Ni modo.'
Ejemplo 3: Una pregunta sobre lo que de verdad quieres saber vale más que una pregunta cortés que no te importa.
