What this lesson teaches
Information arrives in many formats — a chart, a quote, a clip, a spoken claim — and each carries its own reliability. Integrate them into one understanding while evaluating the credibility and accuracy of each, noticing where a vivid format hides a weak source.
Worked example
A presentation pairs a polished animated graph with an offhand spoken statistic; a sharp listener notices the graph has no labeled source while the number was 'something I read once,' and treats the confident delivery as no substitute for the citation that is missing.
Practice questions
- List the different formats a presentation uses to deliver information and what each format is good at conveying.
- Judge the credibility of one source in each format, naming what would raise or lower your trust.
- Combine the reliable pieces into a single summary and flag which claims you set aside and why.
