What this lesson teaches
Foundational U.S. documents share themes of liberty, justice, and self-government but pursue them with distinct purposes and rhetorical strategies. Analyzing these features shows how each text argues for its vision of the nation.
Worked example
A founding text may open with a shared principle everyone accepts, then use it as the premise from which every later demand logically follows.
