Using Technology to Publish Writing
Aligned to W.9-10.6 — Common Core State Standards for English Language Arts.
What this lesson teaches
Technology lets writers produce, share, and update work and display information flexibly. Choose tools that fit the message — linking, formatting, or collaborating — rather than adding features for their own sake.
Worked example
A research summary gains from an embedded, sortable table readers can rearrange; the same content pasted as a flat paragraph would bury the comparison the writer wants noticed.
Practice questions
- Describe a piece of writing and the digital feature that would present it best.
- Explain how a reader could interact with or update the shared version.
- Name one feature you would leave out because it adds no meaning.
