What this lesson teaches
An author gives reasons to tell us why something is true.
Worked examples
Example 1
A book says pets need care because they need food, water, and love.
Example 2
A book says plants need sun because sunlight is how they make their food.
Example 3
Look for the word 'because.' It tells you the reason is coming next.
Practice questions
- What does your book want you to know?
- What reason does the author give?
- Tell one reason why from your book.
