What this lesson teaches
Some books are true and teach us about the real world, like animals or weather. As you read, look at the pictures and the words together to learn what the book is teaching.
Worked example
In a book about frogs, the words say 'A frog jumps,' and the picture shows a frog in the air. The picture helps you understand the words.
Practice questions
- What is a book about cats trying to teach you?
- Point to a picture in a fact book and tell what it shows.
- Name one true thing you learned from a nonfiction book.
