What this lesson teaches

In a real book, two things can be connected, like rain and puddles.

Example 1

The sun comes up, and then the flower opens — one thing leads to the other.

Example 2

You plant a seed, then you water it, and then it grows — each step leads to the next.

Example 3

Words like 'first,' 'next,' and 'last' are clues that the book is telling you an order.
