What this lesson teaches
Chinese history is organized by dynasties — ruling families believed to hold the "Mandate of Heaven." From the Shang (first writing on oracle bones) through the Zhou, Qin, and Han, China grew, unified its writing and roads, and developed lasting philosophies like Confucianism (order through respect and duty) and Daoism (harmony with nature).
Worked example
The Qin ruler Shi Huangdi unified China in 221 BCE, standardized money and script, and connected earlier walls into an early Great Wall to block northern invaders — but ruled so harshly that his dynasty collapsed soon after his death, replaced by the long-lasting Han.
