What this lesson teaches
Good readers can enjoy and understand many kinds of stories — chapter books, plays, and poems — that match their grade. When a book feels a little hard, you keep going by rereading tricky parts, asking questions, and picturing the scenes in your mind.
Worked example
If a chapter book uses a word you don't know, a strong reader slows down, reads the sentence again, checks the picture in their head, and keeps reading instead of giving up.
Practice questions
- Name three different kinds of stories you have read this year.
- Describe one trick you use when a page feels too hard.
- Explain how rereading a confusing part can help you understand a whole story.

Ejemplo: Si un libro de capítulos usa una palabra que no conoces, un lector fuerte va más despacio, lee la oración otra vez, revisa la imagen en su mente y sigue leyendo en lugar de rendirse.
