What this lesson teaches
A story tells about events in order. Add details, let characters speak, and use words like 'first' and 'next' to show what happens.
Worked example
'First, Lea found a lost kitten. "Don't worry," she whispered, and next she carried it safely home.' The order and the talking bring it to life.
Practice questions
- Write a beginning that introduces a character.
- Add one line of dialogue where a character speaks.
