What this lesson teaches

Writers improve their work in steps. First plan your ideas, then revise to add or change words, and finally edit to fix mistakes.

Worked example

After writing 'The dog ran,' you revise it to 'The happy dog raced across the yard' to make the picture clearer.

  2. Revise one sentence to add a stronger detail.
