What this lesson teaches
The narrator or a character has their own feelings about what happens. Your own opinion might be different from theirs.
Worked examples
Example 1
A character may love a rainy day, but you might wish it were sunny — that is your point of view, not the character's.
Example 2
The narrator may describe a new school as exciting, while the character walking in is terrified. Two views in one paragraph.
Example 3
'I' stories are told by a character inside the events. 'He' and 'she' stories are told by someone outside looking in, who often knows more.
Practice questions
- Tell how a character feels about an event.
- Tell how you feel about that same event.
- Explain one way your view is different from the character's.

¿De Quién Es el Punto de Vista?
El narrador o un personaje tiene sus propios sentimientos sobre lo que pasa. Tu opinión puede ser diferente a la de ellos.
Ejemplo 1: A un personaje le puede encantar un día lluvioso, pero tú quizás quisieras que hiciera sol — ese es tu punto de vista, no el del personaje.
Ejemplo 2: El narrador puede describir una escuela nueva como emocionante, mientras que el personaje que entra está aterrado. Dos puntos de vista en un párrafo.
Ejemplo 3: Los cuentos en 'yo' los narra un personaje dentro de los sucesos. Los de 'él' y 'ella' los narra alguien de afuera mirando, que muchas veces sabe más.
