What this lesson teaches
When you report or tell a story out loud, speak clearly at an even pace and add facts and details so listeners follow along.
Worked examples
Example 1
Reporting on your garden, you say slowly, 'I planted beans in May. They grew tall, and by July I picked ten pods.'
Example 2
Reporting on a science project: 'I tested three soils. The sandy one drained fastest, and the bean plants in it grew shortest.'
Example 3
Speak slowly enough to be understood, and look up from your page at least a few times. Reading a paper aloud is not the same as telling people something.
Practice questions
- Give a short report with two facts, speaking clearly.
- Tell a story with a beginning, middle, and end.
- Add one detail that helps your listeners picture it.

Contar Sobre un Tema
Cuando expones o cuentas una historia en voz alta, habla claro a un ritmo parejo y agrega datos y detalles para que quienes escuchan te sigan.
Ejemplo 1: Al hablar de tu jardín, dices despacio: 'Sembré frijoles en mayo. Crecieron altos y en julio recogí diez vainas.'
Ejemplo 2: Al presentar un proyecto de ciencias: 'Probé tres tierras. La arenosa drenó más rápido, y las plantas de frijol en ella crecieron más bajitas.'
Ejemplo 3: Habla lo bastante despacio para que te entiendan, y despega la vista de tu hoja al menos unas veces. Leer un papel en voz alta no es lo mismo que contarle algo a la gente.
