What this lesson teaches
In a discussion, listen closely and build on what others say instead of just waiting to talk. When you report on a topic, speak clearly and use facts and descriptive details.
Worked example
A classmate says volcanoes erupt. You build on it: 'Right, and the hot lava can flow for miles.' That adds a relevant detail to the discussion.
Practice questions
- Give a one-minute report on something you learned, with two facts.
- Build on a friend's idea in a discussion.
- Add a descriptive detail to make a report clearer.
