Odd and Even Numbers

What this lesson teaches
A number is even if you can split the objects into two equal groups with none left over. If one is left over, it is odd.
Worked example
Is 6 even? Split into two equal groups: 3 and 3, none left over. So 6 is even, and 3 + 3 = 6.
Practice questions
- Is 8 odd or even? Show two equal groups.
- Is 9 odd or even? Try to make two equal groups.
- Write 10 as a sum of two equal addends.

Números pares e impares
Un número es par si puedes separar los objetos en dos grupos iguales sin que sobre ninguno. Si sobra uno, es impar.
Ejemplo: ¿6 es par? Sepáralo en dos grupos iguales: 3 y 3, no sobra ninguno. Entonces 6 es par, y 3 + 3 = 6.
