What this lesson teaches
Words can be close in meaning but feel a little different. Think about how words link to real life.
Worked example
'Damp,' 'wet,' and 'soaked' all mean a bit of water, but 'soaked' means the most water.
Practice questions
- Name two words that mean almost the same thing.
- Tell which of two words is stronger, like 'warm' or 'hot'.
- Give a real example of when you would use each word.
