What this lesson teaches

We talk one way with friends and another way in polite places. Choose the words that fit where you are.

Worked example

With a friend you might say, 'Hi!' To a principal you might say, 'Good morning, how are you?'

Practice questions

  1. Say hello in a friendly way to a friend.
  2. Say hello in a polite way to a teacher.
  3. Tell which way fits a thank-you note.
