Which Is Bigger?

What this lesson teaches
To compare two numbers, first look at the tens. The number with more tens is bigger. We use > for greater, < for less, and = for equal.
Worked example
Compare 34 and 28. 34 has 3 tens, 28 has 2 tens. 3 tens is more, so 34 > 28.
