What this lesson teaches
Some words belong in the same group. We can sort words by what they are like.
Worked examples
Example 1
Apple, banana, and grape all go together, because they are all fruits.
Example 2
Hammer, saw and screwdriver go together, because they are all tools.
Example 3
Hot and cold are opposites; warm sits between them. Some words are on a line, not in a box.
Practice questions
- Name three animals that go in one group.
- Tell what apple and orange have in common.
- Sort these: dog, shoe, cat. Which two match?
