Big Letters and Dots

What this lesson teaches
We start a sentence and a name with a big (capital) letter. We end a sentence with a mark like a period.
Worked examples
Example 1
"Sam has a hat." It starts with a big S for the name Sam and ends with a period.
Example 2
'I go to Lincoln School.' Both I and Lincoln are capitalized — one is the word I, the other is a name.
Example 3
A question mark and a period do different jobs. 'You are ready.' and 'You are ready?' mean two different things.
Practice questions
- Put a big letter at the start of a sentence.
- Add a period at the end.
- Use a big letter for your own name.

Letras Grandes y Puntos
Empezamos una oración y un nombre con letra mayúscula (grande). Terminamos una oración con un punto.
Ejemplo 1: "Sam tiene un gorro." Empieza con S mayúscula por el nombre Sam y termina con punto.
Ejemplo 2: 'Voy a la Escuela Lincoln.' Lincoln lleva mayúscula porque es un nombre.
Ejemplo 3: Los signos de interrogación y el punto hacen trabajos distintos. 'Estás listo.' y '¿Estás listo?' significan dos cosas diferentes.
