What this lesson teaches
Sometimes a book uses a word we do not know. We can ask what it means and look for clues.
Worked example
A book says a frog is "damp." We can ask, "What does damp mean?" It means a little bit wet.
Practice questions
- Find a word you do not know in a book.
- Ask what that word means.
- Use clues in the words nearby to help you guess.

A veces un libro usa una palabra que no conocemos. Podemos preguntar qué significa y buscar pistas.
Ejemplo: Un libro dice que una rana está "húmeda." Podemos preguntar: "¿Qué significa húmeda?" Significa un poco mojada.
