What this lesson teaches
When you learn a new language, you start with the friendly words people say every day, like hello, goodbye, please, and thank you. You can also say your name and how old you are. Saying these back and forth with another person is a real conversation, even if it is very short.
Worked example
In Spanish: 'Hola! Me llamo Ana. Tengo seis anos.' means 'Hi! My name is Ana. I am six years old.' A friend can answer, 'Hola, Ana! Me llamo Leo.'
