Aligned to NCAS:Re — National Core Arts Standards.
What this lesson teaches
Looking carefully at art and talking about it is a skill too. You can say what you notice, what you think is happening, and how the picture makes you feel. There can be many right answers, because everyone notices different things.
Worked example
Look at a painting in a book and say: I notice lots of blue, I think it is the ocean, and it makes me feel calm and quiet.
Practice questions
- Look at any picture and say three things you notice.
- What do you think is happening in the picture?
- How does the picture make you feel, and what makes you say that?
