What this lesson teaches
At this level you can hold conversations on many topics, express and support your opinions, and handle surprises in everyday situations. Reaching the Intermediate range, where you can manage real tasks and discussions in connected sentences, is the point where the language becomes truly useful for travel, work, and friendships.
Worked example
Discussing weekend plans in Spanish, you could say, 'Prefiero ir al cine porque me encantan las peliculas de accion' (I prefer to go to the movies because I love action films) and then ask your friend's opinion.
Practice questions
