What this lesson teaches
Physical activity is a powerful place to practice the social skills adults need: leadership, integrity, respect for differences, and including others. Acting ethically, like playing fair even when no one is watching and applying rules independently, builds character. These competencies translate directly to the workplace and community.
Worked example
Volunteering to officiate a youth game fairly, or organizing an inclusive pickup game where everyone gets to play, shows the kind of leadership and integrity that matters in any job or team.
Practice questions
- Describe one way to show leadership in activity.
- Why does integrity matter even when no one is watching?
- How can you make an activity more inclusive?
