Pushes and Pulls

Aligned to K-PS2 — Next Generation Science Standards.

What this lesson teaches

A push or a pull is a force that can make things start moving, stop, speed up, slow down, or change direction. Stronger pushes cause bigger changes.

Worked example

Pushing a toy car gently makes it roll slowly; pushing harder makes it go faster and farther.

Practice questions

  1. Give an example of a push and a pull.
  2. What happens to a ball if you push it harder?
  3. How can you make a rolling ball stop?

Empujar y jalar
