What this lesson teaches
World War II (1939-1945) was the deadliest conflict in history, fought between the Allied and Axis powers across Europe, Asia, and the Pacific. During it, Nazi Germany carried out the Holocaust, the systematic murder of about six million Jews along with millions of others.
Worked example
At the Auschwitz camp in occupied Poland, the Nazi regime murdered more than one million people, most of them Jews, in an industrialized program of genocide.
