What this lesson teaches
In discussions, ask and answer questions with details, and build on others' ideas. When you present, support your claims with relevant evidence and speak clearly.
Worked example
In a debate about screen time, you say, 'I claim too much screen time hurts sleep, and a study found teens who scroll at night sleep less.' The evidence supports your claim.
Practice questions
- Make a claim and back it with one piece of evidence.
- Pose a question that pushes a discussion forward.
- Respond to someone's point by elaborating on it.
