What this lesson teaches
In discussions, ask and answer questions with details, and build on others' ideas. When you present, support your claims with relevant evidence and speak clearly.
Worked examples
Example 1
In a debate about screen time, you say, 'I claim too much screen time hurts sleep, and a study found teens who scroll at night sleep less.' The evidence supports your claim.
Example 2
Disagree with the idea, not the person: 'I read that line differently — the text says he hesitated, which sounds more like doubt than fear.'
Example 3
Arriving with one prepared question changes a discussion. Without it, most people only repeat whatever the last speaker said.
Practice questions
- Make a claim and back it with one piece of evidence.
- Pose a question that pushes a discussion forward.
- Respond to someone's point by elaborating on it.

Discusión colaborativa y presentaciones
En las discusiones, haz y responde preguntas con detalles, y construye sobre las ideas de los demás. Cuando presentes, apoya tus argumentos con evidencia relevante y habla con claridad.
Ejemplo 1: En un debate sobre el tiempo frente a pantallas, dices: 'Argumento que demasiado tiempo frente a pantallas afecta el sueño, y un estudio encontró que los adolescentes que usan el celular de noche duermen menos.' La evidencia respalda tu argumento.
Ejemplo 2: Discrepa de la idea, no de la persona: 'Yo leo esa línea distinto — el texto dice que dudó, lo que suena más a incertidumbre que a miedo.'
Ejemplo 3: Llegar con una pregunta preparada cambia una discusión. Sin ella, la mayoría solo repite lo que dijo el anterior.
