What this lesson teaches
An argument states a claim, supports it with reasons and evidence, and uses clear transitions. Acknowledge the topic fairly and conclude by reinforcing the claim.
Worked example
Claim: 'Students should learn coding.' Reason + evidence: it builds problem-solving (cite a study); it opens careers (cite job growth). Conclusion restates the claim's importance.
Practice questions
- Write a claim and one reason backed by evidence.
- Add a transition (for instance, therefore) between two reasons.
- Draft a one-sentence conclusion.
