Patterns and Ordered Pairs

What this lesson teaches
You can make two number patterns from two rules. Line up the matching terms to make ordered pairs like (first, second). Then you can plot those pairs on a grid and look for a relationship.
Worked example
Rule A: start at 0, add 3 → 0, 3, 6, 9. Rule B: start at 0, add 6 → 0, 6, 12, 18. Pair up the matching terms: (0, 0), (3, 6), (6, 12), (9, 18). Notice each B term is exactly 2 times its A term. Plotted on a grid, the points climb in a straight line.
Practice questions
- Rule A adds 2 starting at 0; Rule B adds 4 starting at 0. Write the first four ordered pairs.
- Using the pairs above, how many times bigger is each B term than its A term?
- Make two rules of your own, list four ordered pairs, and describe the pattern you see.

Patrones y pares ordenados
Puedes hacer dos patrones de números a partir de dos reglas. Alinea los términos que se corresponden para formar pares ordenados como (primero, segundo). Luego puedes graficar esos pares en una cuadrícula y buscar una relación.
