Adding Audio and Visuals

What this lesson teaches
Pictures, charts, and sounds can make a presentation clearer and more interesting. Choose visuals and audio that match your main idea and help your audience understand it, not just decorate the page.
Worked examples
Example 1
Presenting on thunderstorms, a student shows a photo of lightning and plays a short clip of thunder, so the audience both sees and hears what the report is about.
Example 2
Presenting on the Grand Canyon, one photo taken from the rim does more than three paragraphs describing how deep it is.
Example 3
Too many slides is worse than none. If the audience is reading, they are not listening to you.
Practice questions
- Name one picture or sound that would help explain a topic you like.
- Explain how a chart could make a spoken report easier to understand.
- Describe a visual you would add to a presentation about your favorite animal and why.

Agregar Audio e Imágenes
Las imágenes, las gráficas y los sonidos pueden hacer una presentación más clara e interesante. Elige imágenes y audio que vayan con tu idea principal y ayuden a tu público a entenderla, no solo para decorar.
Ejemplo 1: Al presentar sobre las tormentas eléctricas, una estudiante muestra una foto de un relámpago y reproduce un clip corto de un trueno, para que el público vea y escuche de qué trata el reporte.
Ejemplo 2: Al presentar sobre el Gran Cañón, una sola foto tomada desde el borde hace más que tres párrafos describiendo qué tan profundo es.
Ejemplo 3: Demasiadas diapositivas es peor que ninguna. Si el público está leyendo, no te está escuchando.
