What this lesson teaches
Communities make rules and laws so people stay safe and are treated fairly. A rule is often used at home or school, and a law is made by the government for everyone.
Worked example
A stop sign is a law that keeps drivers and walkers safe, because everyone has to stop and take turns at the corner.
