What this lesson teaches

A right is something you are free to do, like speaking your ideas or learning in school. A responsibility is something you should do to help others, like following rules and being kind.

Worked example

You have the right to play at the park, and the responsibility to clean up your trash so the park stays nice for everyone.

Practice questions

  1. Name one right you have.
  2. Name one responsibility you have at home or school.
  3. Tell why it matters that people take care of their responsibilities.
